HP System Recovery DVD won't boot: G62-340US Windows 7 x64

There's no error message or anything. I even have the dvd drive booting first in the BIOS, and all I get is a blank screen with nothing happening after startup. Somebody please help.

Is it a bootable disk made by yourself (at the time you first started the machine) or some DVD that was included in the package ? Why do you wan to recover ? (what's the 1st problem ?)

According to what I found, F11 should get you to the HDD Recovery option. Otherwise, the Recovery CD is supposed to be bootable as it is a standard Win7 bootable disk. (read some of the above to see what I found).

edit - to follow-up on Ponch' post, there may be a difference in the method depending on the source of the CD. supplied when bought vs. created at initial startup (you DID do that after first powered-up didn't you?). In case#1, this is probably (and should be) a bootable standard (usually) Win7 (no drivers/extras) plus (potentially) a Drivers/Software disk(s). In case#2, (usually) the first disk gets you reloaded and the remainder finish up.
