sangeethar44 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Videos from youtube can be downloaded by various means. But some of the videos belong to a particular channel which cannot be downloaded by any youtube download softwares that i tried.Eg: The videos 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugiANaZQSkI&feature=watch-now-button&wide=1' or 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkNc2rlLSgk&feature=watch-now-button&wide=1' belong to youtube channels and cannot be downloaded by many of the video download softwares like internet download manager, etc i tried. They only seem to download a .htm file and nothing more. Please let me know if there are any softwares that help in doing this.Note: This is solely for personal usage and is not intended towards copyright violation.
Joseph_sw Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 i notice the youtube' player trying to download the movies from unusual port 1935, not from its usual port 80. tipping my firewall.from what i see, youtube begin to use other protocols than http: or rtmp: , to deliver their videoprobably some-kind of propetiary protocols, exclusive to youtube' own flash-video-player.most downloader will fail to notice internet traffics outside those protocols, thus unable to take-over the downloads. If you're registered user of Intenet Download Manager, you might post a request at their contact list.
Tripredacus Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 It looks like the URLs where the video is require authentication to get to. But it is strange that Youtube won't actually prompt you for credentials, instead returning a 401 result to the browser. This means that the particular page this video is hosted on has a variable or include within it that has the password, meaning it can only be accessed from that page, likely with the player or some other mechanism authenticating with the server. I did also stumble upon the mobil version, however it uses the RTSP protocol and my browser didn't seem to like that.BTW: the first video appears to have been recorded in interlace and isn't very good on the eyes.
