jaclaz
You need to post whatever info you remember on your hard disk when it was functional, like (eaxamples):OS used to partition and format it. (or which non-standard tool)OS currently (before the problem) running/booting from it (if any)Partitions/volumes on it (if more than one)OS you are currently running TESTDISK under.Kind of data you have on it, which actual part of them you really *need* (should a partition recovery be not possible)the MORE data you can provide the higher are the probability to solve the issues faster (if possible). Also I don't need/want images, testdisk has a /log feature, use it and post the resulting log.Be prepared to use other tools besides Winimage, detail what OS(s) can you run on the computer you are currently using to attempt the data recovery.jaclaz
Ashleythetiger
ok i think i was using microsoft windows XP when i 1st bought the drivethen i changed to windows Vistathe test disk one i am using is 6.12 version and the download is win 32the files (you mean what i had saved on it?) are mostly videos, some music, pictures and some word docs, and it will take a little while to get a log:(I hope thats some of what you asked for again as said sorta a newbie at thistho i have noticed i think i have a problem with my hard drives boot thing but the partitions seem fine (meaning i only have one shown the bootable file)tho i have noticed that it seems to think my drive is a mac thing not a PC so it selects the 2nd option in the file disk thing
