bookie32 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Hi folks!Looking to recover data deleted accidentely from a hard drive....... What is a good program for recovering deleted data? When I googled...every report was different?Don't want to waste money on a program that can't deliver...LOLThanks bookie32
allen2 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) For me, the best free one is photorec. And as for the best non-free , it's r-studio.But i suppose depending on what kind of file system and file types some others might be a lot better suited for the job. Edited July 6, 2011 by allen2
bookie32 Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Hi allen2!I will take a look...Thanks!bookie32
nitroshift Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I second R-Studio. Although not free, it's worth every single cent I paid for it.
bookie32 Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 Hi again!I have tried photorec...brilliant! I like the script that sorts out the files afterwards..nice! TestDisk the partner to photorec gets a lot of good press....I even looked at CAINE (ComputerForensics Linux Live Distro) and they include photrec and TestDisk..@nitroshiftThanks for the comments!I will get around to looking at r-studio...bookie32
