KenO Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) My old laptop has some start up errors. Did some reading and seems may be due to deleted "software reminants " causing an error message which is annoying.http://www.everythingcomputers.com/pc_startup_trouble.htmBefore resorting to a "clean install" thought would try to solve the problem.Question: Is unchecking All the Startup files in msconfig the same as booting in "Safe Mode"?ThanksKen Edited May 2, 2011 by KenO

KenO Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 Hi loblo,Is it possible to post Screen Capture(SC) on the forum? If yes tell me know and I will try to post a SC of the Error Message on the forum. Thanks again for all your helpKen
loblo Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 You could attach an image to the post I guess or link to an image you upload to some free image sharing website.
Fredledingue Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Disabling "everything" in msconfig definetly evacuates 95% of the problems you may get with a corrupt or inadequate installation. Not as minimal as Safe Mode thought.
