tomasz86 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) When trying to integrate SATA drivers (doesn't matter which ones) using nLite setup hangs on this error:The same integration process works without problems on Win2K Pro. Edited March 20, 2011 by tomasz86
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 One step at a time. Please try to post in the proper forum next time http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/89-nlite/Look at pic #1 here http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html; do you see that edition of Win2K listed here? It is possible it is not supported by nLite. If you are using nLite, then you have a Last Session.ini file in the Win2000 working folder on your PC; please attach it. When you say SATA drivers (doesn't matter which ones), you mean older/newer versions of the appropriate SATA drivers, right? Please report back with this information so we can help youCheers
tomasz86 Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) 1. I'm very sorry for posting in the wrong forum. 2. The problem is like this:I have two clean copies of Win2K Pro and Win2K Datacenter Server. I also have a pack of SATA drivers for Win2K. If I add them to the Pro version, there are no issues. If I do the same for the Datacenter Srv I get this error.I get this error even if I try to integrate just ONE driver which means there must be a problem in the very process of integration. Or maybe it's the Datacenter Server which doesn't support SATA driver integration?Of course there are no installation problems of either Pro or Server when SATA drivers are not integrated.3. nLite shows a message about unknown ID but still allows me to modify the Datacenter Server version. Apart from the SATA driver integration error there are no other issues with nLite and this version of Win2K. Edited March 21, 2011 by tomasz86
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 OK, so you are using the same SATA drivers because you want to install the Datacenter edition on the same PC as the Professional edition, right?nLite shows a message about unknown ID but still allows me to modify the Datacenter Server version. Apart from the SATA driver integration error there are no other issues with nLite and this version of Win2K. Could you make a screenshot of that error and post it here? And please attach Last Session.ini, like I asked in the previous post.Cheers
submix8c Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 ???Won't swear to this (maybe someone more knowledgeable will dispute this) but I don't think you can nLite a Datacenter Edition, only Pro, Standard Server, Advanced Server (same applies to Server 2K3 editions - no nLiteing a DC Edition).I suggest comparing before/after slipstream of the Pro and manually do the same to the DC Edition. It might possibly work then.
Ponch Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 And don't forget nLite is restricted to personal use, no business/professional (it's in the EULA).
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I don't think you can nLite a Datacenter Edition I already mentioned that in my first post in this topic, but tomasz86 says nLite shows a message about unknown ID but still allows me to modify the Datacenter Server version. I'm still waiting for that Last Session.ini.
