[Help] How do I use PC modem to make calls

How can I use my modem to make phone calls?

I tried dialer (I can hear them but they cant hear me) and searched the internet for free software but cant seem to find any program that will use my built in modem as a phone...Do any of you know any good software?

If Windows is capable of doing it even better

I've never used my modem (in the pre-broadband days) as a "Phone",

but this question pops up in my head: "Is your microphone selected

in the audio-mixer and it's level set, when your making the call?"

Yes, but I dont think dialer can be used as a phone. Looking for freeware option

I haven't ever used my phone modems for telephony either. I can find software online, but none for free so far.

Not only you can make phone calls using your modem, but you can also make it as a fax machine & answering machine with appropriate software. To make calls, you follow LoVeSmItH's suggestion. Would be lot easier if you have a headset with mic to avoid echo.
