Tripredacus Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 At first thought, I would want to do this, since I'm already deploying both. Then again maybe not because I bet this covers the info on Technet, which is totally different than what I do.
gosh Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 why not? Its free. If you pass you get the certification, if you fail its like it never happened. Also, i believe the first 5000 people that pass a cert get a special kind, i forget the word. So you would get a special cert you could put on your resume. Ive taken 3 beta exams, passed 2, failed the last one ;(
DigeratiPrime Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Do beta exams appear on the transcript, if yes does it note it was a beta exam?
cluberti Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 You find out if you pass around the time the exams come out of beta, and if so, you get full certification on your transcript. @Trip, I've found that simple knowledge of how things work is enough to pass most of the deployment exams, so even if you're not doing what's on technet, knowledge of it (and what you've learned from experience) is enough to get by (especially considering beta exams have tons of questions, unlike a normal non-beta exam). I say do it if it's going to be something that aligns with your job, because there's no downside other than time out of your day studying technet and taking an exam for a few hours.
gosh Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) on the transcript it says the real exam (ie 70-681), just like normal. Like i said the first 5000 people that pass a certification get a special version, i forget the correct word.edit: the word is charter. See this link to see the difference:http://www.techexams.net/forums/general-certification/12514-certification-certificates-2.html Edited June 30, 2010 by gosh
DigeratiPrime Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Thanks for the information. I'd take it but I am already studying for another exam.
