Enjoy, John.
GrofLuigi Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I haven't experimented, but I don't think English (United States) can be even removed with nLite. Even if you select ALL languages and keyboard supports, it stays.Maybe it depends on the source or I don't know what the heck I'm talking about (that's possible too). GL
b-man Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) i also thought it couldnt remove some languages and keyboard layouts but somethings not workingreading the other thread i done it(except export the reg key) and found i already had the dll so i tried registering it then setting it as the default but i get windows could not properly load the English (australian)- US keyboard layout currently running English (australian)- United States - international keyboard layouti havent got an xp computer with that language installedcould some1 copy there reg file entries for those 3 keysHi there, after having similar problem and reading your posts, I just couldn't believe it cannot be done. So I chechked it myself and found it's quite easy task. Here's how I did it:The best way is to have access to a machine with already installed system without removed keyboard layouts. Open regedit and look for the desired language layout in:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layouts\00000425 is Estonian for example.Under key value 'Layout file' you'll find the dll file name you need to copy from system32 folder to the machine which is missing it. Ofcourse copy it to the same location (%WINDIR%\system32).Then just select the language, use the export feature and save the reg file and add it to the registry on the target machine. That's it. Now you have the missing layout ready to use. Hope this helps to someone.I would check also :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard LayoutHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\DosKeybCodesHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\DosKeybIDsEDITnever mind found a way to get it workingi just edited HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layouts\00020409(the us international reg entry )and when to the key "layout file" and modified the data from "kbdusx.dll"(internatinal language) to "kbdus.dll" (us language)the reason i wanted it changed isthe only but very annoying difference between the layouts is the international hangs when using ^ or " and u have to press another key for it to displaythanks jonhc for once again helping to fix my problems Edited May 30, 2010 by b-man
