whitehorse Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Managed to extract Quicktime.msi and appleapplicationsupport.msi from orginal installation file. Install these msi files with SCHEDULE_ASUW=0, ASUWISINSTALLED=0, REGSRCH_INSTALL_ASU=0 options. But this could not disable "check for updates automatically" in Quicktime preferences. Copy QTPlayerSession.xml and Quicktime.qtp to the default user folder, and it cannot disable update as well. Anyone knows how to disable "check for updates automatically" in quicktime 7.6.6?
digital john Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 just add a rem line at registry, see example below[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]"Messenger (Yahoo!)"="rem \"C:\\Program Files\\Yahoo!\\Messenger\\YahooMessenger.exe\" -quiet"this will prevent from running at every logon, you add this to your tweak, i did for my windows 7!
Tripredacus Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 You can try adding QTTASK.EXE into the AppLocker and disallow it to be run. I do not know if that would effect using QuickTime to play videos or not.
