colore Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 hellocan you tell me please how to fix this problem that the below pop up tends to appear each time I right click on a file and open the context menuthanks
CoffeeFiend Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 You could remove it by hand using regedit, but if you're looking for something simpler you could try ShellExView.
jaclaz Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 How/when it started? That program is a known troublemaker in certain configurations:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165/en-usBut maybe it's a corrupted exe/dependency or a virus/malware of some kind.Make sure you have no virus/malware.Run combofix:http://www.combofix.org/jaclaz
colore Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 how can I remove it using ShellExView? I don't see any verclisid.exe entrythanks
CoffeeFiend Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 If you follow the link given by jaclaz, you'll see that verclsid isn't the shell extension, it's what verifies them. ShellExView will let you remove them, including the one causing issues (crashing verclsid). I'd start with whatever was installed last.
vinifera Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 i have removed that app and replaced with "dud"http://www3.telus.net/_/dudit helped me when verclsid started to cause troubles with image thumbnails in explorerbut can help you also if you have some error problems with no reason
