timeguroo
Hey All, I'm new to this forum, and forgive me if the only reason I joined is to ask this question. My problem is that after I partition my drive and image (using GImageX) I then run bcdboot c:\windows. It will successfully make the Windows partition bootable but I'll end up with 2 instances of Windows 7 at the bootmgr. Here are the steps i take:Partitioning drive:diskpartselect disk 0cleancreate partition primary size=100select partition 1format quick fs=NTFS label="System Reserved"assign letter=Tactivecreate partition primaryselect partition 2format quick fs=ntfsassign letter=CactiveImaging partition(s):Run GImageXImage C: with windows imageImage T: with system reserved imageMake Windows Bootable:bcdboot c:\windowsI'm not really running an unattended installation but an OOBE installation. After i get through the OOBE and restart I'll end up at the boot manager requesting I choose between two instances of Windows 7. Either one I choose will get me in, though.Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks,John
cluberti
Was the image sysprep'ed before you captured it?
timeguroo
Was the image sysprep'ed before you captured it?I feel like an id***. The problem has been solved. Using GImageX, I created two images, one with the boot option and one without. I've used the bootable image and didn't even have to use bcdboot. THanks for the quick reply, cluberti! Tripredacus
Plus, you don't need to capture the system reserved partition. As long as you sysprep your image, it will rebuild the contents of the reserved partition upon first boot. You still need to create the partition as you are now however, but also do not need to assign it a drive letter.
