Using faster memory

Hi,

Can I install a 1066Mhz DD2 memory on a mobo that supports up to 667/533/400?

The reason I'm asking is that I can get a 1066 memory for much less than a 667.

You'd have to try it to find out. Best case scenario is that your motherboard will run it at 667MHz. Worst case, your computer won't post.

I don't think that the speed is the problem but the voltage is, most 1066 modules need higher voltage. All depends how the module-maker programmed the SPD, but I would presume it should have info for 667 and 800 too...
