Where can I get parts and firmware for Hard Drives?

Where can I get parts such as PCB, Heads ETC and firmware for defective hard drives?

I doubt those ever leave the factory as "parts".

Hi,

I know that the factory does not sell or suply them but there are external website on the net which sell those parts.

What are those websites?

And how can I get firmware for my defective hard drives?

Firmware can often been found on the website of the manufacturer.

Replacement parts... nowhere to my knowlegde and with a lot of drives

it isn't even possible to swap PCB's, even if the drive it came from

is exactly the same (or even from the same batch) as the defective one.

But if you don't believe me and want to see for yourself, try Google

...and you were planning on replacing the heads?

I assume you have access to a clean-room and the necessairy tools...
