hi! just wanted to verify if MSFN, specifically the message board, was down yesterday ... tried to access it several times to no avail. i got this:

Contentteller

The MySQL database of the IP.Board 2 installation has encountered the following problem:

The MySQL database server has returned 1045: Access denied for user 'nobody'@'localhost' (using password: NO) while executing SELECT COUNT(id) FROM ibf_members

SELECT COUNT(id) FROM ibf_members

Please try it in a few minutes again. We apologize for any inconvenience.

user_hidden & 5eraph were kind enough to give some info about it over another board. thanks!

Yes. It was down temporarily. But it is back online now. On a side note, they must've changed the URL processing, my old links do not work anymore. It still occurs after I deleted my cookie, is this a permanent change ? What about all the old-style links in everyones post's. Do they all re-direct to the home page now ?

This was working yesterday, now redirects to main page.

Yep, it's a known issue.

The feature is called "friendly names" and it seems that all the Owners and Admins of all the boards in the world like to (actually I believe it's due to a stoopid setting when the board software is updated, not an actual fault of the good guys) switch it of and on every other day.

JFYI:

Custom made SEO urls turned off. Will not be enabled again. When we upgrade to IPB 3.0.5 we will correct all links as IPB 3 have SEO integrated and friendly urls we be permanent.

We apologize for any trouble cased by this but we have to do it this way.
