vinifera Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 (edited) so whenever user has to change system protected registry key or entryone has always rclick on that key(s) and do this ownership annoyance...is there a way to do this via BAT file, but that it gives ownership for COMPLETE registry hives ?i know this might be complicated since registry entries are actualy stored somewhere along $MFT$so its not just something like taking ownership of single file, but did anyone ever tried this ? RickSteele Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 On actual installed windows 7?If so you right click the key and choose permissionsWindows 7 locks some registry keys similar to Vista in that, at least in my experience, one cannot change the permission-especially legacy system entries; always get access denied no matter what. I even try to remove the system from ownership by deleting all child inherited-no success.
