Le faux Gersoise Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Bonjour tout le monde! Can anyone explain to me how to run nLite on my Sony T2XP please? There are no recovery discs supplied with this machine, but there is a recovery partition. Can I get the i386 data directly from the HDD (how? I can't 'see' it) or should I make a fresh set of recovery discs and use thos?I'm running XP Pro with SP3 (albeit very slowly..).Merci bien,Seán. (nLite novice)
Ponch Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 People have tried with various luck. It depends on what sort of image you get through your recovery process (fully installed or sysprep). Note that nLite is designed to work on a standard "Windows XP installation disk" and not on a bunch of files that might be the good ones. You will also need the root files for a bootable cd.See here and here. One simple way to get the files is to start the recovery process and stop it after the image is copied.
Le faux Gersoise Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Ponch,Thanks for that; I'll give it a try and report back in a few days. (Sony currently having its' third cooling fan fitted )Seán.
jaclaz Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The "proved to be working in some cases and at least with one Sony Vaio" approach is to re-build a "standard" (or "standard enough" ) source, links here:http://www.msfn.org/board/do_make_bootable...er-t120423.htmljaclaz
