usb multiboot 10 won't let me pick xp source

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Having some trouble with usb multiboot 10. After formatting my pendrive, I try to use option 1 to set the location of the XP source, however I get the following cryptic message:

"Enter your choice: 1

Please Select your XP Setup Source Folder containing I386 Folder

and was unexpected at this time."

That's it, then it puts me back at c:/usb_multiboot_10

Any thoughts?

What is your OS , Vista or XP ?

What is the path of your XP Setup Source folder that you want to select ?

After you enter 1 there should appear a folder browser window launched by .vbs routine.

It might be that VBS is not installed on your computer.

Check if you have C:\WINDOWS\system32\cscript.exe and file wscript.exe

In folder USB_MultiBoot_10\u_script you can double-click on file FolderSel.vbs to see if folder browser window appears.

I'm running XP, SP3.

My source is drive I, it's a virtual drive mounted by Alcohol 120%.

I have the files in system32, and when I run foldersel.vbs, a folder browser does indeed appear.

I'm stumped!

My source is drive I, it's a virtual drive mounted by Alcohol 120%.

In that case, Copy first the content of drive I: to folder e.g. XPRO in root of your Harddisk Data partition.

Then run USB_MultiBoot_10.cmd

Same result :(

Try to unzip as USB_MultiBoot_10 folder in root of Harddisk Data partition.

Otherwise try GUI program of ilko_t

Or try New approach:

Install of XP from USB without booting from USB using U_XP_SET with GUI programs

usb_multiboot_10 is sitting in the root of the hard drive, I.e. c:/usb_mutliboot_10

I'll try ilko_t's one for now and see if it works
