SP3 includes all previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates, hotfixes, and select out-of-band releases. Guest Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I found a couple old threads. I read it wrong. You can slipstream SP3 onto an untouched XP. It's installing that has prerequisites.To install SP3, either Windows XP Service Pack 1a (SP1a) or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) must already be installed.

Actually there's Windows XP SP3 bootable CD! You can directly install a fresh copy of Sp3!!

I have checked on Windows Vista. Service Pack 2 can'be installed on exiting Windows Vista RTM(build 6000). It requires at least SP1.
