puntoMX Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 After much coordination and jumping through hoops with my vendor's tech support I finally convinced them to send me a new chip. All fixed now!Well have I ever!, So it was the darn CPU, that's highly unusual but o well, they have 4 cores and HT so the chance IS higher.I presume they just send you a replacement without paying for it?
RJARRRPCGP Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 My guess: problem with the cpu. A usermode app cannot hard reset the system, closest thing is a BSOD.Yep, right on! It's got to be a stop error.
tain Posted July 11, 2009 Author Posted July 11, 2009 Sorry I wasn't clear. My last post was the result of the OEM finally sending me a new chip. I installed the new chip and that fixed all of my problems. It came with a pre-paid shipping label to Intel so I've already shipped the old, defective chip back to them. My only cost in this was the time/PITA of it.
