mikesw Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I guess people know that Vista SP2 RTM 6002.18005 is ready for download. However, some may not knowthat there is a vista cleanup tool to remove sp1 obsolete files and also can be used to cleanup slip streamedfiles.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library...036(WS.10).aspxSee under setup and deployment improvements section.SP2 also includes a Service Pack Clean-up tool (Compcln.exe) which helps recover the hard disk space by permanently deleting previous versions of files (RTM and SP1) that are being serviced by SP2. The Service Pack Clean up tool can also be run offline while creating slipstream images to reduce the size of the image.
Tripredacus Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 This seems to be the popular thread of the week! No awards tho!http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=134397http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...20&start=20Those are just two examples...
JustinStacey.x Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 (edited) Well, I think given the fact that it's no secret that Windows has a history of containing megs of legacy DLLs and other such junk that are never used, this is a pretty good step forward! Edited May 27, 2009 by JustinStacey
