Hello,

I would like to use an nLited disk to install Windows XP, but just recently found out about this partitioning limitation. What scares me is that the format when reinstalling will delete my partitions (C:\ and D:\), especially D:\ where all my data is found, thus losing a lot of data.

Could you suggest me to some method to avoid this and to point the CD to install to a proper (existing) partition C:\?

p.s. I'm currently looking at BartPE, but it's not going so well

Grateful in advance,

Unless this is very important to you and you have the patience to do a lot of research I would not automate the partitioning and selection of which drive to install windows on.

In my experience it takes about 3 minutes to get past this bit and then its plain unattended sailing!

I agree with Paraffin.

In the past I always choose manually on which partition to install windows.

It's only one intervention you have to make and all the rest goes unattended.
