[Help] upgrading my laptop memory

hi guys...

i had bought old laptop Acer Extensa 5204NWLMi it come with 512MB ram only, so i would like to upgrade it to 2GB OR 4GB but the problem I dont know the maximum size for memoery upgrading it is 2 or 4 GB, i have 2 connectors

ya my laptop's website said mine only supports 2 gig but i'm using 4 gig right now :D

i would like to try it but i am cheapskate :rolleyes: i am afried to loss the 2GB ram which i will buy to try cause i think i have to install 2 X 1GB RIGHT?

in the use guide they mention that my laptop ram is DDR2 533 MHz Memory upgradable to 2GB using 2 soDIMM modules (dual-channel support)

but when i open my laptop and check the ram i found this

512 MB 2RX16 PC2-5300S-656-12-A3 [DDR2-666]

and this what igot from cpuz and PC Wizerd 2008

so what type of ram should i buy? and it have to be 2x1GB ? :whistle:

Is there no way to take it to the shop so hey could test the 2GB stick for you? Or no return policy?

Just buy PC2 5300 667MHz sticks, it's just your CPU that works at 533MHZ / MT/s FSB.

there is no way to try it in the shop, i will buy 2 sticks each one 1GB, 2GB is good for me for the rest of this year.
