shduff
I am having an issue with KB961260. I am using the current beta version. I placed IE7-WindowsXP-KB961260-x86-ENU.exe in the HF folder. When the OS boots (XP3), Windows Update still shows that I need this update. I also tried installing from WU and get a failed message (0x8007F0F1). If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Below is the log. This is my first post, please be gentle... bfc_xxx
I think you have to remove IE7-WindowsXP-KB956390-x86-ENU.exe from your list.
shduff
I tried that and it still doesn't work. I am currently trying to back out files until I get it to work. Thanks for your help, though.
iamtheky
Since the error code indicates the 'files from the package are incompatible with files on your system.'have you tried to uninstall/reinstall ie7 and then run the KB? shduff
No I have not, but I did remove all extra files from the HF folder that weren't on TommyP's list and any extra addons I was running and it still didn't work. Uninstall/re-install may fix it, but it defeats the purpose of having a slipstreamed XP3 CD that will be used company wide.
Geej
Try removing IE7-WindowsXP-KB958215-x86-ENU.exe (Dec 08 hotfix) as well sinceIE7-WindowsXP-KB961260-x86-ENU.exe (is latest as on Feb 09) <---keep this(also as per bcf_xxx: remove IE7-WindowsXP-KB956390-x86-ENU.exe (Nov 08 hotfix) )Usually this IE7 Cumulative update has about the same filesize i.e. 8.5 ~ 9MB. So I think it is safe to remove the older version when new version comes out.

That aside, I do Ie7 and fixes from the runonce. Figured if an uninstall/reinstall worked then the current package would suffice.
shduff
Thanks to all the input. I tried removing all the IE7 fixes and just run the IE7 installer from HF and got the same result with 961260 when installing from WU. I will try to run them from the runonce folder to see if that helps. I am currently trying a build with no cabs for Windows Update to see if this is causing the issue. Since you are using it for your job, does that mean that I get paid for doing your work instead of you doing the work yourself? People like you make me want to stop hfslip altogether.I have prepared a special fix that supports this issue. Please visit the beta thread.
