Thank you, DocfaxKay_Jewelers.doc
submix8c Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) Not so sure I want to download that... But may I suggest that you try getting the Office Converter Packages from MS. Chances are the files are in a WordPad or older MS-Word format. PDF documents should open in Adobe (with a warning about Older Format). Also, for Win2000 and up, add this to the registry -[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Wordpad]"EnableLegacyConverters"=dword:00000001 Edited March 9, 2009 by submix8c
kahlil88 Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 OpenOffice should be able to open older M$ Office documents. Not sure what to do about the PDFs though...
Tripredacus Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 The attached document does indeed appear to be corrupted, or not a real Word Document. Viewed with Scite it is full of nulls. A normal Word doc shows different information in Scite. Also, it is not a virus, as it does not have any (valid or otherwise) PE headers. OpenOffice Writer shows it to be full of # symbols, but did prompt to convert the file. The default options did not work. I'd say this one is lost.
DigeratiPrime Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Opened with a hex editor, it is completely filled with zeros AKA junk.
