rfwdwork Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Hi. I tried to use windows desktop search, but couldn't get it to work. What I would like to now is just get rid of it, uninstall it. I have looked all over the web, trying to find out how to uninstall it. What I found is to use add & remove programs. I looked in there and couldn't find it anywhere. I did some more searching and some people say to use the spuinst package to uninstall it. My question is how do you use the spuinst package cause I have never used it before. Please could anyone help me, like tell me how to use it, to uninstall windows desktop search? I am getting desperate. Edited March 4, 2009 by rfwdwork
Tripredacus Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Did you look under Add/Remove Windows Components? I am not familiar with desktop search.
nitroshift Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Got to Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel, tick the box that says "Show Updates", then under Windows Updates look for KB940157 and proceed with uninstall / removal. Good Luck!
Tripredacus Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Got to Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel, tick the box that says "Show Updates", then under Windows Updates look for KB940157 and proceed with uninstall / removal. Good Luck! I forget about that option sometimes, because my XP at home doesn't have SP2 (SP1?) so I don't have that option.
