Mistique31 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I'm using N-Lite for the first time. My understanding was I could do a Start-up disc of my windows and wanted programs. When I try to do this it tells me I need to put in my Original Windows Disc. My Original is only SP1 and I wanted to do a start-upwith all my updates. Is this possiable with this program and if not, does there give a program that I can do this with?
XP_NO Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Yes, this is possible; you can integrate SP3 and additional upgrades.Check the manual at the homepage; it is very helpfull http://www.nliteos.com
Ponch Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 1.Welcome to the forum. 2. Imagine all threads tittled "Help", "I have a problem", "Doesn't work",... please read the forum rules and get yourself a proper thread tittle.3. nLite doesn't "produce" a Microsoft Windows XP install cd, as one could think, that would be illegal (and very impressive for a 2Megabyte program ), it "modifies" an existing cd to make a new one with added/modified and/or removed components, so indeed, you need an original cd to start with. That makes sense.
jaclaz Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 My guess is that the question of the OP is a little different, more like:I have an original XP disc that came slipstreamed with SP1.My current XP install is updated to SP3 and with all hotfixes. Can nlite add to the new build the "base" files from the original Cd and slipstream to it all the updates by taking them from my current updated install? If this is the question, the answer is NO. You need to "feed" nlite with the original "base" disc, the source of latest SP and the sources of ALL the later updates you want to include. In other words nlite won't touch your current install.Probably an easier way would be to use another app, like HFSLIP:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=129or RyanVM integrator:http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/to create an up-to-date "full" install source, and then use nlite on this.jaclaz
johnhc Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Mistique31, what Ponch is saying is edit your first post and change the title. You are the only one, except for a moderator, who can change it. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.
