Kelsenellenelvian
It's not in the I386 folder it's in the $oem$ folder and called by cmdlines.txt.
Guest
For me in XP x64, it's called by SysOC.inf by the following line:nLite = ocgen.dll,OcEntry,nLite.inf,HIDE,7The line calls the [nLite] section as defined in nLite.inf under [Optional Components]. vgsangiuliano
Thank you 5eraph, i'd like to ask you one more thing.I think it is possible to add reg entries in the nlite.inf file but i don't know how.For example if you choose to don't hide file extension for known file types nlite.inf has this line in the [CT] section:HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced","HideFileExt",0x00010001,0If i don't set this option in nlite the extension are hidden by default and that's ok.If i choose to manually change this thing in the explorer folder option i can see my reg and find:HideFileExt 0x00000000 (0)My question is why does nlite use 0x00010001,0 instead of 0x00000000,0 ?I'm asking this to be able to edit nlite.inf file to add other reg entries that you can't set in nlite program and i thought i can use the same syntax with the reg entries i need but i'm in trouble because looking at the registry give me a 0x..... different from the one i find in nlite.infCan you help me?Thanks
jaclaz
Read this:http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/inf-file.htmLAST is value (0) or if you prefer 0x00000000.0x00010001 is flags, REG_DWORD in this case.jaclaz

jaclaz
Precisely not a guide on how to use nlite but a guide which explains how doesd nlite works, what it does and so on, something like a manual for "developers".Not that I know of, nuhi tends to give not extended informations on the inner workings of nlite. There are others methods/apps that may (or may not) be of help in understanding what's going on:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=124220Also, some reduction can be made using HFSLIP:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=129http://hfslip.org/advanced.htmlas always, your mileage may vary...jaclaz
vgsangiuliano
Ok now it is clear.I think that if nuhi chose to don't give sources of nlite, he has his good reasons.
