I live in the US but bought my computer in Canada and sometimes when I try to access some sites i get a message that only people in the US are allowed those sites. Can I change my computer location? If so how? Thanks

That is very strange. I never EVER seen this before!

But make sure you check out the Time Zone settings under Regional Options in Control Panel.

Cause it should really matter where you live, you should be able to visit every website there is from anyways. Very strange.

First off, Welcome to THE Forum, heartsiphobia! As to your problem, that is a strange behaviour indeed, as Nerwin pointed. Could you give an example of a site which denies your access to it so we can try and duplicate your issue?

@Nerwin

Should someone enforce such a check on their website, they would verify your location through reverse lookup, meaning resolving your IP to a ISP, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the regional settings in Control Panel of your PC ;)

Lol I don't know, I just looked it up in google and a few people said to check that out.

Sure, you can find on google also this way of partitioning hard disks:

but that does not mean that is the "right" thing to do. ;)

On the other hand, straightening cables does help :whistle: :

Now, back to topic, I guess the only way we can help heartsiphobia is, should he be willing to forfait a little bit of his privacy and post some links, by testing a couple of the

some sites

he mentions, and see how they behave.

Sorry about the delay in replaying. I was out of town. Try watching Survivor Gabon episode 13 video on cbs.com. Message says, because of copyright regulations only customers in the US can watch this video. This is the second site I have seen such message. Thanks y'll
