how to install from a flash drive

i have a 4 gig flash drive and i have tried many different methods that i have read about but the only one that worked didnt preserve my nlited install but did a very minimal install i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to install my nlited copy of xp with all my changes from a thumb drive i know it works from a dvd but i dont have that option on all my office pc's
