September 10, 200817 yr Hello.I just got problem with my pc.When I turn on and wait for few moments while computer boots up,it makes the "clicking" sound.Sometimes the sound pattern is slow and sometimes fast.I don't know which hardware makes that sound, but my guess is not the harddrive or graphic card that is making.My guess is either my case fans or power supply.What do you all think of these?And I hope I can get advise and possibly help with it.
September 10, 200817 yr Does your PC boot up normally?Did you open your PC to look inside? It´s easy to do and it´s the first thing I would do. Check that the fans are spinning and not full of dust...A clicking sound would normally lead to the hard disk, so listen closely to it if it comes from there.
September 10, 200817 yr I say crack it open, blow the fans out with a can of compressed air (dont go nuts -the air is often more expensive than a new set of fans)if that doesnt fix the problem you can try powering down, disconnecting non critical fans (chassis fans etc) and see if the noise stops.
