ricktendo Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) I am posting this in the forum in case you did not get my PM with this bug report, I am having problems with script.dll and [obsolete_files]This DLL is used by Files and Settings Transfer Wizard and I dont need it anymore since I am doing a full replacement with the MigWiz from Vista SP1Before After Here is my addon, its BETA2 and in them they have a temporary fix to the problem. I have temporarily disabled script.dll under [obsolete_files] and instead I use [txtsetup_remove] and [dosnet_remove] to stop the file from being copied so you will not get this error I am talking about if you integrate them "as is", but you will get the idea of the problemhttp://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4202 Edited August 26, 2008 by ricktendo64
TranceEnergy Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I really like this idea of taking vista components that are of newer version then of those in xp, that works on xp, and thus being able to use them on xp as well.In short: This is a major kick a** good job sir. More please! =)
ricktendo Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) Only reason I found out this works on XP without the need to patch it is you can download and install it from here or you can run this program straight from your Vista DVD on XP also Edited August 20, 2008 by ricktendo64
TranceEnergy Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Well it makes sense if one thinks about it for a second.I find that Vista x64 sata/pata drivers work for xp x64 as well. It also names the sata controller better then just calling them raid controllers or what it was. There ought to be a post that lists components, anything vista that works in xp ,32/64-bit, whole apps or just single file drivers, and sticked.Seems like a good VM project.
