Disabling Unattended Mode

Recommended Posts

I want my installation to be equal to the original. I just want to add some drivers and SP3.

Can I disable the unattended mode?

In the Unattended Mode section select Prompt Repair in the drop down menu ..

EDIT: Actually if you dont select Unattended it shouldn't give you an Unattended install? Not real sure as I gave up with nLite and did it all the hard way ...

But if I set "Prompt repair", it will force the "Hide pages" and the setup will "not display the user interface during installation".

You should be able to disable unattended by either deleting or renaming the file, WINNT.SIF.

1. Just open a command window (Start --> Run --> "cmd").

2. Peruse to your i386 folder in your XP source files.

3. Type in "ren winnt.sif winnt.old"

4. The installation will no longer be unattended.

If you delete/rename WinNT.sif you also loose all unattended settings. To avoid that you might edit WinNT.sif for:

[unattended]

UnattendMode=ProvideDefault
