leoliver Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hi Everyone, I just ran Secunia PSI (RC3) personal software inspector , version vo.9.0.4 , https://psi.secunia.com/ , and they reported that the 7z.exe file , which comes with the nlite program files , is "This installation of 7-Zip 4.x is insecure and potentially exposes your system to security threats!" and also "Secunia strongly recommends that you update this program by installing the update that is provided by the vendor of this program. " I thought I would share this info with everyone. I use and like nlite , but I'm uncertain if my installation of nlite would work properly if I deleted the 7z.exe file, that was installed with nlite and replaced it with the current version of 7z.exe , which is 7z. exe 4.57 , and a beta version 4.58 . Any comments ?
jaclaz Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Using the "Search" function before posting appears to be increasingly become a forgotten art :http://www.msfn.org/board/Nlite-147-the-ve...-a-t120782.htmlas said there, I really cannot see the problem.I giess this time Secunia has overdone it a bit. jaclaz
