Tripredacus Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I'm not exactly sure what you are saying there, but unless you are installing an image into a VM/VPC session, I wouldn't recommend installing Windows while you are booted into another copy of it.
aviv00 Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 i want to use wim to make image to window xp and copy this image to hddand with sysperp install xp
IcemanND Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 sysprep is used before you capture an image, not after you deploy the image.
aviv00 Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 i just think to myself maybe i could make wim with both oses vista and xp togethervista setup will copy the whole wim image to hdd and after the vista is done installed it self i will use something to install xp but from the vista with app that will config it any idea how to do that ?
Tripredacus Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 It may be better to install XP to a different volume than the one Vista is on. Either way, you should boot from the CD to install XP rather than running it from Windows. Especially if its an unattended CD since it would likely attempt to erase your boot volume. If you do it the way you want to, you need to read about how to edit the BCD after imaging.
