Obviously I don't understand how to add Vista correctly. I took the same preferences for adding a XP-Source and gave the drive-letter to the Vista-DVD by pressing "v". But the doesn't work. When I start Grub and Vista from within, it only opens a command-box for a very short time.

What am I doing wrong?

I am using Multiboot 10 and a USB-HDD, NTFS-formatted via HP-Tool (single Partition).

Edit: I got it. Copying PE2 and starting setup from there. So whats the "v"-option for? If this is another question bothering you, sorry, just ignore it. But I don't have to say that.

Read the Help_Info\Help_USB_MultiBoot.txt and the Links therein.

Check also menu.lst for direct Vista Start Option, if it corresponds to where bootmgr is located.

After booting with boot.ini menu, one can select GRUB4DOS Menu with the option to

launch VISTA Setup directly by chainload of bootmgr on any partition of any harddisk.

It also possible to boot first with Windows PE 2.0 and then run VISTA Setup from a different partition.

So Vista and XP Setup can coexist on a single partition USB-stick having NTLDR (XP) Bootsector and boot.ini menu.

The V Option is used just to give directory from where Vista Source will be copied to USB-drive.
