jda-au Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 (edited) Not really ever had problems using nLite, until now. (Other than HFSLIP & nLite don't really like each other, but that is off subject).Have been successfully Slipstreaming XP SP3 with nLite V1.4.5 (on NT5 System), until I added the July Hotfixes/Updates released 3rd & 7th July '08.(Seemed to be getting a variety of errors, all occurring before the initial/first API appeared, causing reboot).Have since upgraded to nLite V1.4.7; now appears I am only getting a single error, still occurring before the initial Setup API appears. The Error:lsass.exe - Not Enough Quota (X) Not enough virtual memory or paging file quota is available to complete the specified operation. [ OK ]I do not know which Hotfix/Update may be causing the problem, or what I could do to fix, other than removing one Update at a time until the problem disappears. This error appears whether I use the destination (Dell Inspiron 1150), or Virtual PC, so it may be more to do with environment than hardware.I have checked the integrity of all the files I am using, and am using fresh Source. The Hotfixes/Updates (all July '08 releases) (added and error appeared):WindowsXP-KB951376-v2-x86-ENU.exeIE7-WindowsXP-KB950759-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB951698-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB950762-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB950760-x86-ENU.exeWindowsXP-KB951748-x86-ENU.exeAm only using nLite V1.4.7 and using fresh source, nLite completes without error or complaint.Additional:I have removed the above six (6) Hotfixes/Updates from nLite V1.4.7 installation, (fresh Source), Setup API displays AOK, Setup proceeds.I will add one (1) Hotfix/Update at a time, until error returns, then remove that particular Hotfix/Update, and continue adding other Hotfixes/Updates one at a time. That should definitely pinpoint the problem Hotfix/Update.Will post result(s), so stay tuned. (AM not laying blame on nLite, problem may well be with the Hotfix(es)/Update(es)).Addendum:Added the above Hotfixes/Updates one at a time (testing after each addition) beginning lowest, KB950759, to highest, KB951748; adding to the same nLite'd Source. No errors.Perhaps I need to alter the sequence the Hotfixes/Updates are stacked/queued in nLite list, I thought nLite took care of processing sequence.I'll create a fresh source, and do the full nLite routine, but I don't know what else to do.This is the sequence the Hotfixes/Updates (originally) appeared in "Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs":WMP11-WINDOWSXP-X86-ENUKB950759 - (03/07/2008) Cum. Sort earliest (Date) to latest (Date). Also, as nLite seems to process WMP first, I put it first, then IE7, then KB######'s sorted by date.(Sorted) "Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs":WMP11-WINDOWSXP-X86-ENUIE7-WINDOWSXP-X86-ENUROOTSUPDWindowsUpdateAgent30-x86KB929399 -------------- 03/22/2007KB936782 -------------- 06/12/2007KB939683 -------------- 07/17/2007KB941833 -------------- 2007/08/24KB941569 -------------- 10/31/2007KB942763 -------------- 2007/11/14KB947864 -------------- 2008/03/01KB950760 -------------- 2008/04/24KB951698 -------------- 2008/05/07KB950762 -------------- 2008/05/09KB950759 -------------- 2008/05/20KB951376 -------------- 2008/06/16KB951748 -------------- 2008/06/20Problem fixed. SnowmanDK Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Mine is in danish but it's the same error:I have that only that update (KB956390) and and Windows Media Player update (KB939683) left.I DID try to switch them around, taking the WMP update first. Then I get this:saying it's missing WMDRMSDK.DLL.There is no other updates than these two.My only way out was to put them in the RunOnce section. So now I finally have been able to do a fully up-to-date danish Windows XP Pro.Including DirectX and .NET.
mrQQ Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I also get that error. Trying to work out what went wrong now. It disappeared when I removed IE7, but then IE was unfunctional after installation..
mrQQ Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 IE7 integration works when using OnePiece's addon, but fails with quota error when trying to use exe directly.
tted86 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 LSASS.exe is a security provider. The error received basically means you have compromised security somehow, and since LSASS is running as a program or service (same thing) it means it was compromised by another DLL, lackthereof, damaged counterpart or unsuccessfully hacked counterpart. I good example is any SFC*.dll. Even with patched SFC_OS.dll, DLL calls and DLL HELL cannot be avoided. And dlls are notoriously for validation; they refuse to work with invalidated counterparts; windows dlls anyways. So even though nlite patches SFC_OS.dll and syssetup.dll, dlls required to start windows and setup must be present, and a dll or exe is in no way obligated to report that you are missing one; MS programmers did that by design to discourage system tempering. Feel discouraged ?
