Bomyne Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) Okay, I admit to knowing next to nothing about hardware, so...I bought a laptop with Windows Vista installed (Toshiba satelite). I recently bought a copy of Windows XP Home because I hate vista. I rebooted to start the install, got error about harddrive, called Toshiba, they tell me to stick some driver on a floppy disk, and get an external disk drive (thats $$$ that I'm not going to spend)...So What I want to do is use nLite to slip the driver Windows Setup needs to detect the internal hard drive into the installation routine... But I don't know which driver I need or how to do it. Help! Please! Page with the drivers is: http://www.isd.toshiba.com.au/71/live.dll/...mp;x=2&y=12EDIT: I tried to do this myself already, but the few drivers I tried were all in exe form (one was an installshield installer).. but I could find no Inf. Bomyne Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Uniextract should help:http://legroom.net/software/uniextractto get you the files inside the installers/exes.jaclazSadly that did not work as I only ended up with more install files and this time it wouldn't extract any of them.
toja92 Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 If its a installsheild installer, try extracting the installer and then one off the .cab files you get. Then you might get the files. Else try total uninstall, it monitors which files/registry entries that are written during a setup so you can find them.
