The dependency service or group failed to start

Featured Replies

Hi,

I removed Vista SP1 Beta (which was to expire in a few days), in order to install the RMT.

the uninstallation went well, I even rebooted...

but after last nights reboot, I have no network (neither LAN nor WLAN).

the diagnostic told me to "Start Wireless Service" - which couldn't be started.

I check the device manager & removed the WAN Miniport (netcfg -e -u ms_sstpminiport).

after a reboot, I have:

The dependency service or group filed to start

I can't find any relevant log in the event viewer...

I even tried to re-install Vista SP1 (I donwloaded it & burned it on a CD), but it fails with:

An internal error occured while installing the service pack.

Error code: 0x80070002. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101139 for details.

can any1 help me with this?
