Flatron Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Hi!I've got a notebook with pre-installed Vista. Exactly with a hidden partition, which can be booted with a special button, and the system boots in recovery mode from there, and that's the place where I can start a new install too. That doesn't ask for a serial number and it's ultimate, so it would be great to make a lite version of that, but as I saw, its directory stucture completely differs from the one I see on an original install disc, I don't find a similar subfolder either. As I remember, it contains some pre installed applications too.Would it be possible to make a Lite version from that?
shilyro Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 yes ,possible .But you may have to sysprep your Machine first ,just to make a Install.wimJust do a refresh installation ,after that ,went to Windows /system32/sysprep/sysprep.exeand choose OOBE,and Gengerize ,restart, But before that ,you should download Imagex for Capture the image,Check this guide ,It helps alotClick itInstall Vista on Partition c will also work , dont worry
Flatron Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Thanks for your reply.I don't think I'll try this nowadays, but maybe in summer, I don't have such amount of time now.
TranceEnergy Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Speaking of time, Vlite and Nlite and the Windows Package manager ( at least in vlite) uses only 1 core here at my dual core cpu.Would be great if both/all cores could be utilized for increased speed.
