JayDogg Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Ok I didnt come up with this but it works and it works great so here is what you do 1. Go here http://www.mediafire.com/?azfxoxiubdn and download this zip file and extract it2. Take that modifype.exe file you just unzipped and copy or move it to the same folder where you have your edited logonui.exe which you want to include in Windows setup, lets say you have your edited logonui.exe in C:\test3.So now you have logonui.exe and modifyp.exe in the same folder (C:\test) Open Command Prompt and navigate to the same folder where your files are stored (cd to C:\test)4.Type modifype logonui.exe -c5. Now make it in to a cab file by typing makecab logonui.exe, a cab file name logonui.ex_ with be made6. Now after you have ran nlite, copy your edited logonui.ex_ cab file into the I386 fold and replace the one that is there. If you had nlite make an ISO of your disk you can open it with powerISO or magicISO and copy your edited logonui.ex_ cab file and replace the one that is there then save your ISOAll done and worked like a charm and you can do the same to all them filesMSgina.dll : To change the text & background of Shutdown dialog boxShell32.dll : To change a lot of things, like Progress dialog box (copying, deleting, etc.), Run dialog box, Context menu items, and many other things (As much as you’ll go through the items, you’ll know what I’m talking about)Netshell.dll : To change flashing internet icon in system trayComdlg32.dll : To change the look of Open/Save dialog box, color box, print box, find & replace box, etc.Stobject.dll : To change volume icon & some other icons in system traymydocs.dll : To change My Documents iconshdocvw.dll : To change Internet Explorer 6 icons and graphicsIEFrame.dll : To change Internet Explorer 7 icons and graphicsshimgvw.dll : To change image file icons, i.e., BMP, JPG, JPEG, GIF, etcSysdm.cpl : To change the System Properties window lookWinlogon.exe : To change the text, which you see in Login Screen, like applying user settings, logging off, shutting down, etc.Explorer.exe : To change Start button text, Programs Menu text (like Programs, Favorites, Documents, etc.)
nokia999i Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 does affect anything if I replaced the file right b4 hitting the create ISO button. Like when I get to the create ISO part there is a browse button I browse to CD replace file then hit Make ISO ... Is that wrong ? Coz that's what I was doing LoL.
JayDogg Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Every time I have done it I open the ISO with powerISO than nlite made then I drag the edited logonui.ex_ cab file into the I386 folder in the ISO and save it =) and it works every time
danker Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 @JayDoggI hope you hint with "ModifyPE" is working! On SP2 i had never the need for it (it works without ).does affect anything if I replaced the file right b4 hitting the create ISO button. Like when I get to the create ISO part there is a browse button I browse to CD replace file then hit Make ISO ... Is that wrong ? Coz that's what I was doing LoL.It isent wrong! I do this that way for some years! But you should be shour thats your file ist uptodate. Somtimes the files get updatet after a patchday...Every time I have done it I open the ISO with powerISO than nlite made then I drag the edited logonui.ex_ cab file into the I386 folder in the ISO and save it =) and it works every time Its sounds liek too mutch work for me!
JayDogg Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 So Check this out I have DriverPack *Chipset * DriverPack CPU * DriverPack Graphics A * DriverPack Graphics B * DriverPack Graphics C * DriverPack LAN * DriverPack MassStorage * DriverPack Sound A * DriverPack Sound B * DriverPack WLAN I have unzipped them and have them all in a folder and many sub folders and I use nlite to add the drivers into my XP Diskand creat a iso and burn it but when I use that disk to install it gives me an error that says acrsas.sys not found... But I have checked the disk and see acrsas.sy_ cause its packed as a cab. So is it not getting decompressed or what? Anyone have any idea what is going on
danker Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 The "DriverPacks" you better integrate with the "DriverPacks BASE".Run the DP Base after finishing nLite and bevor creating a ISO!The main Problem with DP and nlite ist the MassStoragePack, imho you can integrate the others packs without problems with nlite. You should never use the DP Base BEFOR nlite! nlite handels some tings others as the DP Base and you get only problems.
JayDogg Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 Hey man thanks that worked great =) do you mind if I pick your mind on something else. I see in Windows XP Black SP2 6.0.16 (dont know if you have used it or tested it out) the guys have add a few program installers in the Hotfixes and Updates folder in the I386 folder on install disk and they get installed on the pc with installing. So does nlite do that or did he just put the .exe's in the folder and edit the .ini file which ever it maybe.
