bcmktg
Nuhi,I apologize sincerely if the wording of my topic relating to the to the toside.sys error I am receiving made it sound as if I were using unlicensed or illegal software. I assure you I am not - I have no need to. As a full time employee for the past nine years of the 2nd largest computer corporation in the US, I am issued legal volume licensing serial numbers for all the Microsoft products our company uses and for our other vendors as well such as Symantec, Novell etc., etc., including the ones I mentioned in my post. In fact, the Win XP SP2 installations I mentioned were from company disks supplied to me by my employer. Although I do download ISOs from the internet due to their easy availability, I do NOT ever use any serial number supplied with the ISO. Once again, I have no need to.In the future, I will be far more careful of my wording, because if my post was worded poorly enough to cause you to misconstrue my meaning, then I know others might also perceive it the same manner and that would reflect poorly on the forum and on me.Thanks for all your hard work - I truly appreciate it.Sincerely,Al

Ponch
I do download ISOs from the internet due to their easy availabilityYou are not requested to apologize, but to step back and realize it's not the "poor wording" that makes a problem, because there was no poor wording. As repeated, distribution and therefor download of non free MS softwares trough other channel than MS itself is simply illegal, whatever the licensing or serial you use afterwards. Making a copy of your own disc for other purpose than your own backup is not even allowed. You making a copy of your friends disc for him is not even legal in some lawyer's view. So therefor, it is not allowed to discuss it here or even mention it. People seem to have difficulties to understand this. "Cause everybody does it anyway" is not a valid point here. I think as an IT professional you should know this.
