Try out http://pool.ntp.org/ and select your continent, region, etc.

So for Australia (going by your flag in your topic profile) you should use any of these:

server 0.oceania.pool.ntp.org

server 1.oceania.pool.ntp.org

server 2.oceania.pool.ntp.org

server 3.oceania.pool.ntp.org

I despaired of the Windows time sync stuff - and ended up using a simple little thing called nistime - the 32 bit version.

I think some of my problems have been ISP dependent, as my Netgear router has problems as well.

its not my isp or router as there are 7 other computers in my house and they all synch with the time (i checked)..

Update for Windows XP SP3(KB942763)

Installing this update enables your computer to automatically adjust the computer clock on the correct date in 2007 and 2008 due to revised Daylight Saving Time laws in many countries.

i did use nlite too slim down my xp...

Then you more than likely removed the Windows Time Service. Without that, it won't update automatically.

Maintains date and time synchronization on all clients and servers in the network. If this service is stopped, date and time synchronization will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
