April 18, 200818 yr Does anyone know if there are any monitors out there, wheather it be LCD or plasma that will have a true refresh rate of at least 100 Hz? I know that most CRT moniters will do at least that but they are getting harder to come by. They need to do 100 Hz because we use 3D imagery and we use stereoscopic glasses to see it.
April 18, 200818 yr LCDs and Plasmas don't refresh the same way CRTs do. They don't use a scan line, they refresh individual pixels (subpixels to be more exact). There's really no such thing as a "refresh rate" on LCD monitors. The figure you want to look at is the response time...the lower the better.
April 19, 200818 yr You need special screens for that, Hyundai has a good example with there 42" LCD/TFT screens. If you work with older technology like the 100MHz screens and goggles, then it´s time to step up .
