erpdude8
Looks like Dell and Gateway are releasing more IDT/Sigmatel audio driver packages.I no longer need the R167846 nor the R171788 packages anymore. Dell posted R171786.exe on June 13, 2008 which includes Sigmatel HD Audio driver 6.10.0.5614 from R171788 and the Array Mic driver from R167846. So the R171786 package replaces/supersedes R171788 & R167846. Worked great on my mom's Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop.Gateway has posted D20184-006-001.exe on June 3, 2008 which has Sigmatel HD Audio driver v6.10.5580.0. Drivers are older than some of the new ones that Gateway posted a few months ago. strange. But this is for some Gateway notebook computers and may not work on the Gateway FX-510S computer.keep 'em coming Dell/Gateway/HP/Sony Edited June 17, 2008 by erpdude8
PeaceByJesus
Nothing for my model. Maybe a deal on actual sound cards would better. With this one you cannot record what comes thru the inboard sound without a line splitter. Edited June 17, 2008 by PeaceByJesus

erpdude8
GADS! LOST MY SOUND! Thank Goodness you put this up for me Superman. Sound is back!....I don't know what I did. I uninstalled iTunes and Quick Time because I don't want it on my PC. I went to my Zune Software to listen to some Rock and total silence. Got it back now!.......hey lucky lexonex. Check out v6.10.6033.2 of the IDT/Sigmatel HD Audio drivers from Intel's AUD_allOS_6033.2_PV_IDTGUI_v124.exe package released in mid-August. I checked the stwrt.inf and stwrt64.inf files and they still contain the hwid "FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7682&SUBSYS_107B4044" on there. For Vista users using IDT/Sigmatel 92xx audio hardware on some PowerSpec desktop computers (which use Intel motherboards), the AUD_allOS_5790.3x_5713.7v_PV_IDTGUI_v83.exe package which contains v6.10.5713.7 of the IDT/Sigmatel audio drivers for Vista SP1 will do nicely. For those using IDT/Sigmatel 92xx audio on certain NEC Versa laptops like L2100, E6200, E6210 (original Vista Sigmatel HD audio drivers were 6.10.5274.0 and may not work correctly with Vista SP1. NEC has not posted any updated Sigmatel HD audio drivers at all on their support sites to support Vista SP1, shameful!) or Packard Bell's EasyNote GN45 series laptops (which also originally use v6.10.5724.0 of the Sigmatel HD audio drivers; Packard Bell also has not offered Vista SP1 ready Sigmatel audio drivers on their support site...pathetic!) and need Vista SP1 compatible drivers, use the D20253-001-001.exe package from the Gateway support page which contains Sigmatel 92xx audio drivers v6.10.5713.0 and may work with those NEC Versa & Packard Bell GN45 series laptops. Sigmatel HD Audio chips on those NEC Versa/Packard Bell GN45 laptops are using a hardware ID number beginning with "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7690" Edited October 31, 2008 by erpdude8
