leozack
Ok so I just ran an install with just these, and the only setuperr.log error I got was the sfcfiles E:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\DirectX_9.0c_November_2007_AddOn_0.3.2_-_CNC.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Unused\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7-WindowsXP-KB939653-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7-WindowsXP-KB942615-x86-ENU.exeSo ... I guess now I try the other stuff until I get errors? Maybe. I'll also try to let it autoupdate and tell me what IE7 updates I need besides those 2. And maybe I'll try the xable "everything since sp2" feb08 update pack. Though it's an IE6 pack so doesn't include IE7 or any IE7 updates.Effectively I may need to do IE7 & it's updates manually, along with slipstreaming WMP11 & it's updates manually the boogy way. Is there no thread/page anywhere with an uptodate list/links for IE7/WMP11 and their updates?
BikinDutchman
Is there no thread/page anywhere with an uptodate list/links for IE7/WMP11 and their updates? For WMP11 it is on Boooggy's http://web.clicknet.ro/boooggy/#hotfixesFor IE7 I use KB938127 and KB944533, the latter supersedes KB942615. I am not aware of any others.
leozack
Thanks for the reply. My working install above gave msupdates for IE7 of kb938127 and kb944533. So maybe I don't need kb942615and maybe I don't need kb939653 either? Not sure. But then I tried the xable xpsp2 update pack for feb08http://xable.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=36I've installed using just dx9 and xablepostsp2 and now I don't have the sfcfiles.dll error (cos I didn't integrate ie7?) but I do have this one again on its own :/Setup could not register the OLE Control C:\WINDOWS\system32\plugin.ocx because of the following error:LoadLibraryreturned error 126(the specified module could not be found). Is that as ignorable as the sfcfiles.dll? I don't want to go ahead using the xable on if it's got an underlying issue there or something? I don't know what that plugin.ocx is used for or why integrating just DX9addon and xablepostsp2 would cause that error. Also msupdate then listed IE7 (obviously) along with WGAN (kb905474) and xp update (kb936357) to download. Strange as I just did the xable post sp2 updte pack? There's also stuff in 'optional' rather than 'critical' of course. Not sure what to do next :/ Edited February 23, 2008 by leozack
boooggy
plugin.ocx message is kinda normal and wont cause any problems
leozack
Thanks for the response boogy - what is it for? Since I didn't integrate any WMP11 stuff or IE7 stuff.I just ran a build with just :E:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\DirectX9.0cNovember2007AddOn0.3.4CNC.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB939653-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB944533-x86-ENU.exeand it's all gone through fine, but now the sfcfiles.dll error is back. That's ok, I think that's just what you get for integrating IE7 in any way at all?Ok so ... now what ... do I use that build and shove in the RVM update back before IE7 in the list and see what errors I get/updates are needed? Do I use that build and shove in the Xable update back before IE7 in the list and see what errors I get/updates are needed? This is painstakingly close but feels so far, esp as I've run out of time in my week off to sort this >_< The fact the only errors are setuperr.log entries also means theoretically the "problems" I'm getting are irrelevant anyway and I coudl use these in production environments but ... I have to be safe not sorry :/ I still feel like I shouldn't be the only one wanting just dx9, ie7, wmp11 & updates uptodate - and that there should be a list somewhere of integration in nlite that will acheive this for me? So far I think the update packs are causing me the trouble/setuperr.log entries? :\
BikinDutchman
But then I tried the xable xpsp2 update pack for feb08http://xable.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=36Setup could not register the OLE Control C:\WINDOWS\system32\plugin.ocx because of the following error:LoadLibraryreturned error 126(the specified module could not be found). Also msupdate then listed IE7 (obviously) along with WGAN (kb905474) and xp update (kb936357) to download. Strange as I just did the xable post sp2 updte pack? There's also stuff in 'optional' rather than 'critical' of course. You need to integrate kb938127 AND kb944533 to avoid them showing up under WUpdateThere were problems with plugin.ocx and Xable with previous versions of nLite, I thought they fixed that in nLite version 1.4.1 what version do you have?-Also see my old post here.-I believe it is not good to ignore the plugin.ocx crash because it may lead to other problems. The Xable post SP2 update only integrates generic CRITICAL updates. You can get the WGAN from his addons page.-There maybe critical updates that are for specific computers such as the Intel minicode update (KB936357).Good luck
leozack
Been looking throughhttp://www.msfn.org/board/pluginocx-revisited-t107545.htmletc and have updated my nlite to 1.4.1 from 1.4 and updated wmp11 slipstreamer to 0.99i from 0.96iHopefully this might help things, and the plugin.ocx error I understand why it occurs now - I can ignore that safely since I don't want to hack anything just to avoid the error log mentioning it?Ok so now do I go back to trying update packs and if so, which. Xable is more uptodate so I'll try that I think, with dx9 addon, and with ie7 + 3 hotfixes (no need for IE7 addons instead then?). I'll see how that works tomor, but for now - sleep /zzz
leozack
So this morning's first test is good. The following worked with only sfcfiles.dll error loggedE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\DirectX9.0cNovember2007AddOn0.3.4CNC.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable-SP2-UpdatePack-February-v3.0.8a.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB939653-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB944533-x86-ENU.exeIt did have a list of updates to get though, which I've downloaded and will try adding to the next build also :909520, 891122, 896344, 904942, 914440, 920342, 925876 - along with 936357Now to try some addons, then try the wmp11 stuff, then finally everything x_x'Oh yeah, .net >_> Well ... there's no way to get 3 on without enlarging setup time by a lot using runonce, so Il'll perhaps integrate roguespear's .net 2 instead.Edit - despite the fact it was listed to download on MSU site on the last build, nlite just rejected integrating 891122 as it's "not for this windows version". Pretty sure I grabbed the right one, though it did call itself a wmp9 update not an xp update in the filename ... leozack
I declare the following a complete success in 1 sweep of nLite integrating then 1 of boooggy wmp11 integrator The only MSupdates were root cert, .net 1.1, .net 3, silverlight. If I could stop the wmp11 "profile setup" thing running on first use that'd be nice but don't want to do the full boooggy twweak mode of setup rather than vanilla so nevermind.--- nLiteE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\DirectX9.0cNovember2007AddOn0.3.4CNC.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable-SP2-UpdatePack-February-v3.0.8a.7zE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\Windows-KB909520-v1.000-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB896344-v2-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB904942-v2-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB914440-v12-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB920342-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB925876-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB936357-v2-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB939653-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\IE7\IE7-WindowsXP-KB944533-x86-ENU.exeE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable_MicrosoftUpdateEngine-v1.1_addon.cabE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable_OUE-OGA-v1.6_addon.cabE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable_WGAN-v1.1_addon.cabE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Xable\xable_AdobeFlashPlayer-v1.2_addon.cabE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\RogueSpearAddonsDotNET20SP1.zipE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\NR_UPHC_Addon.cabE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\Ricks_7-Zip4.56b_AddOn.rarE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\Ricks_CCleaner2.03.532_AddOn.rarE:\XPSP2Lite\Updates\Addons\Ricks_ToolTipFixer1.0.1_AddOn.rar---Boooggy wmp11iwmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exewindowsmedia11-kb928788-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb929399-v2-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb929773-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb932390-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb933547-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb935551-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb935552-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb939209-x86-intl.exe|WindowsMedia11-KB939683-x86-ENU.exe|windowsmedia11-kb942264-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb943335-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb944110-x86-intl.exe|windowsmedia11-kb944882-x86-intl.exe|WindowsXP-KB941569-x86-ENU.EXEI shall now apply all my hacks & tweaks n see how that goes overnight. leozack
All sorted. All sweet. Now I need another week off to sleep! Late for work as usual now -.- But cd successful and burnt!I'm now contemplating how to make a few changes now provided my nLite, such as setting explorer to list my type not name. And something else I've forgotten. Should I make these reg entries set to runonceex regedit.exe /s regfile.reg?
leozack
Ok so I made a new build and added in MMC3 since it wasn't in the last "perfect/finished" build - but I forgot to add my new ie7/mp11 regfile (attached) - should I add it as a runonceex or something?I did check the event log though on what was otherwise a "perfect build" ... and found a .net optimisation service error etc. I've attached the event logs for after the initial install and after I then sysprepped it and rebooted it and ran throught he minisetup. The minisetup asks where c_20127.nls and app850.fon are for some reason and I have to point them to the cd in i386. Anyone have a fix for that? :/And anyone know about these event log errors? If not for them, It'd be perfect o_oEventLogErrors.zipIE7WMP11.reg
