Hello, everyone !

1st. sorry for my bad english...

I have new project - Recovery System based on ghost-like (or ghost itself).

main idea captured from IBM and other BIG firms...

what we need for that?

1st bootable CD-ROM (multi-boot :) with needed code (program)

2nd hiden partition in HPA of HDD (with Image of working system and software for recovery)

how it's work ?

we format disk create partition's like we need... last partition (say about 2-3 giga) at end of HDD...

save MBR to file...

delete last partition from MBR... crop HDD with HPA - so hidden partition will be out-of-hdd...

boot cd-rom with program...

program unhide (temporary) HPA, read real MBR, add to it last partition from saved MBR... set last partition active and boot new MBR (from ram)

recovery software recover 1st (system) partition, MBR and reboot...

I need anyone can program MBR code in asssembler ?

can anybody help ?

(don't know if it right fot multi-boot cd-rom topiks)

If you have Ghost Solutions Suite 2.0 it includes everything you need to do this. The MBR to press a key and boot from the hidden partition and a read only version of ghost to read the image and apply it to the partition, no capture ability.

Yes... but if anyone try setup windows - boot from Windows Setup CD - it's will overwrite MBR...

"Access IBM Recovery" based on HPA + BIOS... access to BIOS we don't have (to change some routines) - so BIOS we can change to boot-cd...
