I have been getting conflicting readings from the bios and of the front panel of case when it comes to temperature reading of the CPU. The panel reading; numbers are broken up and the bios reports a 97C reading. I can give possible rough readings but am looking for a more accurate reading of what the CPU really is running at. I know it isn't 97C because I would be having bonfires in my room or cooking weenies by stick.

I have been trying out a handful of software, Speedfan, mbm5, freshdiagnose, Sandra and they are all good but do not give a temperature reading of the CPU on my system. mbm5 doesn't appear to support my board so I hesitated installing it until they have an update. Freshdiagnose does tell me at least that I have an unsupported chipset and gives an error. Hmonitor just pukes with an exception when I start the program up, EPriviledge exception. Nothing in their faqs about this error and all I could find in Google is a lot of programmers coding for that type of exception in Delphi.

My board is an intel d945GCCR, lga775 and CPU is an intel p4 631, 3.0ghz Cedar Mill brand. I have the bios update for 8/30/2007.

I also did install the intel desktop utilities suite version of diagnostics but that to failed in reading temperature of the CPU. Field areas were blanked.

I have a sensor connected to the heatsink so I should be able to get a reading of some sort by software?

The front panel on my case shows me this::

drunktemp.jpg

lool. But according to the thermometer in the left inside the display, I am probably ok.

I can however get the temp reading from my hard disk through HDtune, lol, anything else who knows. Hard drive is displaying 87F

Is there anything I missed here? I keep verifying the cpu sensor is connected and it is.

PCWizard does but I guess it will be the same reading as in Bios ?

Looks like one field is blanked out?

Not blanked out, just left open to separate the info on the CPU and HDD.
