PC_LOAD_LETTER
I cant believe somebody wrote software to fix this.I installed it and it does work but i also uninstalled it because i cant justify having a program running as a service to fix something i never really considered broken (even it was only taking up 8k)It not for me but i know somebody here has been looking for a way to fix this issuehttp://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=10--EDIT--LOL, before anyone asks, theres an nLite addon for it here http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2071 Edited December 3, 2007 by geek

DigeratiPrime
Microsoft should hire this guy, that bug drives me crazy! I tried it and it really works, I use the tray for a lot of apps so I might keep this on!

DigeratiPrime
OT But I think MS hired Mark Russinovich primarily to get him under their control before Vista was released, not just because he made/makes excellent tools

DigeratiPrime
It uses up about 6-7mb of ram for me.same, but its worth it imo. hopefully it will be optimized more in the near future if possible, otherwise Vista does improve on this behavior. Arie
I personally don't believe it's worth it. Yes, this tooltip problem can be annoying, but having to install an application which then runs in the background constantly to have this fixed is worthless in my humble opinion. How often does this tooltip problem irritate you, that's the question you should ask yourself. If it's a big problem for you, which bothers you daily, then use this application to solve this annoyance. If you're only bothered by it occasionally, like myself, don't install it as it's a waste of hard disk space and resources, even if it's this small and lightweight. But this is all just my opinion of course.

spacesurfer
Yeah, it uses 8 mb for me. Need to uninstall.Isn't there another program that does the same thing? I saw it here somewhere?Yup, and here it is: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...&hl=tooltip Edited January 3, 2008 by spacesurfer
PC_LOAD_LETTER
yeah that one is a little over the top in usage. the only thing i run anymore that tidys up the taskbar is Taskbar Shufflehttp://blogs.technet.com/matthewms/archive...logy-today.aspxit lets you drag/drop taskbar buttons and systray icons the same way you can move tabs in firefox and it only eats about 1MB
