Getting everything related to win2k

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I'm wondering if someone, somewhere, can provide a list of every win2k updates, including high priority, all optional (and possibly not documented or not available to the average user) ones ?

Sure it's nice to get an os patched with latest security updates but I want mine to have every updates released... even the smallest insignificant patch to get the most up to date os.

For example I know that Gurgelmeyer's (hope I spell it correctly), SP5.1 contains over 400 patches and HFSLIP does provides ~100 patches so I'm wondering where are the ~300 missing ones ?

Thanks in advance.

Theres a stick in this forum that has all the updates

http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows_2000_all_t58360.html

Personally id use WUD

http://wud.jcarle.com/

MSFN also has a forum for WUD specific issues

http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows_Updates_...oader_f147.html

as for the differences in numbers im sure thats due to some people counting/not counting updates to updates

Example If KB12345 is an update to KB12234 which was an update to KB11156 is that 1 update or 3?

the W2k list on Jcarles site was updated last patch tuesday so it likely has all but maybe 1 or 2 if there have been any since patch tuesday

Oh and BTW, in your quest to 'have every updates released' please keep in mind that things like internet explorer/windows media player cannot be rolled back to their previous version if it was slipstreamed into the install CD.

Hi, Blizz,

I have just recently been to this forum after not looking at it for half a year. I could not help noticing your topic, since I have had a roughly similar kind of interest.

I do not know if you are still following this thread, but if you are, I thought that I might just as well do a little mischief by pointing you to an old topic of mine, which I just looked up myself: Obscure and non-critical fixes to W2k + USP51 (hope I got that topic link right, never tried one before). But do not take it too seriously, or it might cause an enormous waste of time and a major headache. I guarantee nothing that is in it.

And please do not ask about it, because I have not really bothered about the question since, and I remember less than what is written in the thread.

Also, Tomcat76 gave some additional information on the workings of HFSLIP in this thread, which probably may be quite relevant for some of those old fixes.
